I will give EVERYONE a heads up that this IS a Weight Watcher recipe but EVERYONE NOT on WW, eats them! Go figure!
Lets Get Started!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED!
- 12 OUNCES OF ANY DIET SODA OF YOUR CHOICE
(Dark Sodas should go with Dark Mixes)
-CAKE MIX OF YOUR CHOICE
(Again, Dark Sodas should go with Dark Mixes)
- CUPCAKE SHEET OF 20!
(Yes 20! If you make less than 20 cupcakes , your cupcakes will be MORE than 2 points!)
LETS MIX!
DO NOT ADD IN THE WATER, OIL OR EGGS!
I REPEAT, DO NOT ADD IN THE WATER, OIL & EGGS!
- JUST mix 12 OUNCES of DIET soda & the cake mix together
I use a 20 ounce bottle so I can drink the rest, but all you need is 12 ounces!
FILL & BAKE!
( I know there's 17 in the picture...I made 3 extra to make sure there was 20)
-As stated previously, you have to make 20. If you DO NOT make 20, each cupcake will be MORE in points.
-Let BAKE!
-Once ready (I stick a knife in to see if its done, mine were done in 10 minutes) Let them cool off before removing them from the cupcake try.
WHOA-LA!
ENJOY!
:) Love it! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMy Mommy would love these. I'm not a fan of colas or chocolate (I know...I suck) but anything that cuts the calories down is A-OK in my book!
ReplyDeleteYou can also do any cake with sprite (strawberry and sprite)
DeleteAwesome! So easy to make!

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how many calories is in a cupcake?
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Is there some type of low fat frosting I could use on them though? I want to make these for a party, but I don't really like cupcakes without frosting haha. Any ideas? Thank you! :)
ReplyDeletehttp://366daysofpinterest.com/2012/03/09/day-38-your-new-favorite-frosting/ here is a website to homemade frosting. My mom used this frosting on one of her cakes and it was soo good! the nice thing is you can you use ANY flavor of pudding. :) best of luck!
Deletetry an ovocado chocolate frosting. There are recipes online
DeleteYou could try topping with Cool Whip Light.
ReplyDeleteWhat temp do you bake them on ?
ReplyDeleteWhat temp do you bake the cupcakes at???
ReplyDeleteyou bake them according to the box directions.
ReplyDeleteI am curious as to how you figure out the points! I am new to this and know that I can't go by the box as we don't add in eggs, oil, or milk. Can you share so I can do it with other boxed mixes? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou can figure it out by calculating the nutrition on the cake box and divide by 20, which is why it is important to make 20. Diet soda has no nutritional value so it does not contribute.
DeleteWould Coke Zero work as well??
ReplyDeleteJust made these today...so easy and good! And, since there's no raw egg it's safe to lick the bowl...and spoon...and your fingers!
ReplyDeleteI have made the cake with diet cola and deviled's food cake , it was so moist and good , everyone just loved and I iced it with sugar free icing,
ReplyDeleteHow long would you cook these if you made mini mufins? And if they wwere mini would they be 1 pt.each?
ReplyDeleteCan I use a 9 by 12 pan for this
ReplyDeleteI used a Pillsbury Moist Supreme Dark Chocolate cake mix with 12 oz Diet Coke. However, when I figure the points through my SmartPoints app, I come up with 7 pts for 1/10 of the mix. Multiply this by 10, then divide by 20 is 3.5 points each! Almost double what you posted. FYI.
ReplyDeleteThe original post was before the Smart Points program. Thanks for posting the new points!
DeleteI got the same I entered the cake mix as 432 g as on the box and used diet soda came up as 3 pts
Deletewhat about seltzer water? I don't want the artificial sweeteners because I'm breastfeeding..
ReplyDeleteI make them like cookies and fill them with cool whip.. WW whoopie pies.. I freeze them individually and they make a nice frozen snack.
ReplyDeleteHow do you do this exactly? This sounds good
DeleteTo cut the points and sugar even further, you can use a sugar free cake mix. My sugar loving family didn't know the difference.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Tried it and was great! Love the 0 smart points it cost me (made 18)
ReplyDeleteDo you have to use Diet Coke or can you use a different diets liquid can you tell me if anyone knows I'm at the store now
ReplyDeleteI made this today with sugar free cake mix and diet soda. Weight watcher points were "zero" for one cup cake. AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteHave you re-figured the points for the new Smart Point program? I was just wondering what the difference would be.
